Municipal Waste & Domestic Waste Recycling Systems
Municipal Waste also called urban solid waste, is a waste type that includes predominantly household waste (domestic waste) with sometimes the addition of commercial wastes collected by a municipality within a given area. They are in either solid or semisolid form and generally exclude industrial hazardous waste. This conglomerate of waste which has little or no value in its current form has significant value when properly separated and processed.
Multi Process Design
A Garb designed plant or process line will separate the different fractions into the wanted further treatments. Here as well a basic law is immanent. The wider any range of specifications like analytics, shape, size etc. are the most inefficient it is dealing with it. For example burning Waste, without separation and without drying creates revenue, but it never as efficient as separating in different specific types of waste, with similar analytics (e.g. calorific value), shape, size etc.
The basic fractions of municipal waste are:
Fractions for substantial utilization/direct recycling
Fractions for indirect utilization by further treatment technologies
As the mixture is full of moisture mostly a direct recycling is not possible, only metal separation is profitable. The remaining material needs to be divided into two mainstreams: organics and burnable, which means the high calorific value material. This is the main part of Municipal waste treatment. The two fraction organics and baled burnable were forwarded to further treatments.
Burnable RDF (refused derived fuel) to be burned in cement kilns, or RDF-Power plant
Organic compost, gasification, drying to produce carbon based burnable as well
As Power plants do have a tremendous amount of waste heat, a combination of MSW-plants and RDF-production plants can be designed in order to use the waste heat for drying the organics.
There is no standard design possible as the demands in every region are different in terms of requirements. Logistic, need for electricity, need for heat, fulfilling regional obligations, different regional waste input a.s.o.. We at Garb do have the knowledge and the network to fulfill any requirement possible. Our consulting department is free to recommend any technology to help you meet your requirements.

Garb’s business not only relates to providing the customer with the necessary plant machinery, but more importantly, to help the customer in choosing and installing the best possible plant for your requirements. This involves working with you in the preliminary phase, ascertaining that the right processes and procedure are adhered to and that the proper machinery is assigned to your project.
We at Garb work with you from the very initial idea stage, through to design, implementation, adoption, order and installation, with qualified project managers that oversee every step of the project, through commissioning and the first initial 30 days trial phase. At which point our service and maintenance people take over to provide you with the necessary back up.
Service and maintenance works in conjunction with our consumable and spare parts area to provide you with the maximum flexibility, prompt response, minimized downtime and fast consumable availability.
Above you can see one example of a plant configuration. Please contact us for a specific proposal to meet your requirement.
